Innovit Electric to Supply Fault Current Limiter (Is-limiter) to VICEM

In December 2022, Innovit Electric was awarded a contract by Sinoma to supply two advanced fault current limiters (sometimes referred as Is-limiter in the market) to VICEM for the But Son Cement project, to solve short-circuit current problem when new waste heat recovery power generation subsystem is connected to the grid and ensure the safety of the power system.

With the continuous increase of electrical loads, power plants and large industrial enterprises often need to install larger power sources or additional generators during production and operation, which leads to short-circuit current levels exceeding the permissible value of the system, threatens the safety of the power system. As an ideal switch to solve the short-circuit current problem, Innovit Electric’s UFCL-limiter is capable of limiting the short-circuit current at the initial stage of the first rise, and realizes interruption before the short-circuit current reaches the peak, so that the total fault current level of the system is within withstand and breaking capability of the switches. Compared with complex conventional solutions, whether the device is applied in the transformer or generator feeder, in the bus tie of switchgear, or in parallel with the reactor, it has the advantages of reasonable technology and favorable economics.
